Abstract:

Powdery mildew (PM) is one of the cannabis plant’s most notorious pathogens. PM is an obligate biotroph, meaning it cannot survive without taking nutrients from a host. Powdery mildew can create an invisible network before spores are visible. As with most plant pathogens, the best defense is prevention. This can be done with strict environmental controls, periodic screenings of grow rooms, and screening of incoming clones. If PM has infected the facility, TwinOxide an anti-PM product with Nepablast can eradicate PM infection and prevent recurrence of PM infection in only a few treatments as detailed within this manuscript. Cannabis has been treated with TwinOxide in all phases of growth from new plants to flowering phase without any signs of adverse effects on the plants. TwinOxide is compatible with all plant types battling PM or other mildew, mold, or fungi. TwinOxide has also been tested successfully on grape vines and roses. Introduction:

Powdery mildew (PM) is one of the cannabis plant’s most notorious pathogens. Some believe PM is a systemic pathogen that permeates via the plant’s vascular system. Others believe PM is only a superficial pest that spreads across the plant’s surface (Medicinal Genomics 2018). It is not clear whether PM is systemic. The Powdery Mildew that infects Cannabis is a novel organism. The powdery mildew species that infects cannabis is a different organism than the organism that infects other plants, such as tomatoes or cucumbers. This conclusion is based on genetic sequencing molecular biology work conducted by Medicinal Genomics (2018).

There has been no published research into how this novel PM organism infects the cannabis plant. As with most plant pathogens, the best defense is prevention. This can be done with strict environmental controls, periodic screenings of grow rooms, and screening of incoming clones (Medical Genomics 2018). Infection can also be prevented by using TwinOxide at low concentrations in irrigation water.

The use of TwinOxide can eradicate PM infection and prevent recurrence of PM infection. This white paper demonstrates the rapid success following cannabis treatment with TwinOxide.

Materials and Methods:

TwinOxide with Nepablast activation is a water-based product made from natural ingredients with a proprietary nanomolecular electronic polarity alignment (NEPA) technology enhancement (Arlotti, 2018). Dilution of the product to the final volume detailed in the labeling is required before application to plants. This product works over a pH range of 4 to 11. Typical dilution is 8 ounces of concentrate diluted into 20 gallons of water to make the solution that is applied to the plants when there is an active PM infestation. If the goal is prevention of PM occurring, the 8 ounces is diluted into 40 gallons of water.

Typically, 1 gallon of diluted ready-to-apply product covers 75-100 plants dependent upon size of plants. For infestation, spray plants heavily on the leaves, underside of leaves, and the stem generously on days 1 and 2. Do not spray on Day 3 and repeat the application on Day 4 just as Days 1 and 2. PM should be dead after this treatment. There may be spots where PM had been growing, but those spots should now be flat. If necessary, repeat application. No adverse effects on plants have been noted using this protocol.

For maintenance to keep PM away, spray plants heavily on the leaves, underside of leaves, and the stem generously once every 3 – 5 days depending upon cleanliness of the operation. If PM growth is observed between applications, revert to the infestation protocol. No adverse effects on plants have been observed using this protocol.

For application on an outside operation, the protocol is modified as the product is degraded by UV exposure. At dusk or after dark for infestation, spray plants heavily on the leaves, underside of leaves, and the stem generously on days 1 and 2. Do not spray on Day 3 and repeat the application on Day 4 just as Days 1 and 2. PM should be dead after this treatment. There may be spots where PM had been growing, but those spots should now be flat. If necessary, repeat application. No adverse effects on plants have been noted using this protocol.

At dusk or after dark for maintenance to keep PM away, spray plants heavily on the leaves, underside of leaves, and the stem generously once every 3 – 5 days depending upon cleanliness of the operation. If PM growth is observed between applications, revert to the infestation protocol.

Unused product should be stored in a cool dark place completely out of sunlight to retain potency. Typical shelf life is 30 days but can easily be extended to 60 or 90 days with proper storage.

TwinOxide may also be used in a central watering system of grow operations to prevent PM or even to treat systemic PM, if it is determined to be a systemic problem. Prevention of PM can also be maintained by using TwinOxide continuously in irrigation water at a concentration of 0.1 to 0.2 ppm throughout the grow operation, a concentration which is significantly less than the topical application concentrations of 4 to 10 ppm.

Results:

These pictures are before and after TwinOxide treatment with nepablast from an indoor cannabis grow operation in Colorado at a 0.5 to 1 ppm concentration. After just one treatment, it was described by the master grower as follows. TwinOxide with Nepablast definitely knocked it (PM) down. The PM left discolored spots where TwinOxide with nepablast got rid of the PM completely. Where there were white spots, it was smooth and looked like TwinOxide with nepablast made the PM inactive because there was no powdery effect to it. It was still present in a few spots after one treatment but significantly less than before application of TwinOxide with nepablast (CO grower 2018).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The plants in the following picture are the younger plants that were also TwinOxide treated with nepablast. No PM problems are visible following TwinOxide with nepablast treatment and the product will be used routinely for PM control through preventative sprayings in an effort to up keep plant health (CO grower 2018).

 

 

 

 

 

In the following picture, former PM spots are still visible following TwinOxide treatment with nepablast but they are completely flat (CO grower 2018). The picture set below with four leaves in separate panels are from this group of cannabis plants directly below (CO grower 2018). These plants have been TwinOxide treated with nepablast three times over 4 days.

 

 

 

 

 

All four of the leaf pictures below are from the flower area and the same area of the previous picture. They were picked to get a better picture. All four leaves are different. You can still see spots where PM was originally on the plant, but they are completely flat and there is no live PM present. After 3 treatments, the visible white crusty stuff is milk (CO grower, 2018).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The following two pictures from a cannabis grow operation in California are taken before and after TwinOxide treatment with nepablast at a higher concentration of about 5-9 ppm (CA grower, 2018). As can be seen in the pictures below, this concentration of TwinOxide with nepablast killed the PM after one treatment without any adverse effects on the plant.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cannabis has been treated with nepablast in all phases of growth from new plants to flowering phase without any signs of adverse effects on the plants.

The picture below shows tomato plants. The plant on the left in the photo in the gray tomato cage is a control plant that was watered with regular tap water. The two plants on the right in the green tomato cages are plants that were watered using TwinOxide with nepablast treated water. There are many more tomatoes on each of the treated plants than what is observed on the control tomato plant (Arlotti, 2018).

 

 

 

 

 

Discussion and Conclusion:

TwinOxide with nepablast is an oxidizer of unwanted mildew along with unwanted bacteria, viruses, mold, algae, protozoa and spores. The product oxidizes cell walls, cell membranes and biochemical machinery that are required for the PM to survive. The product works topically on PM and kills PM within days without any adverse effects on the plants or on the humans applying the product. If the product is used as part of the irrigation water, systemic benefits of TwinOxide with nepablast are also available.

There may be spots on the plants where the PM previously had lived but those spots should be flat, and the PM should be dead. Consist use of the product will keep PM away from your plants. This product can be used up to harvest and there are no added odors or tastes on the plants when used according to labeling instructions. The active ingredient is TwinOxide and it is environmentally friendly as a green chemical, and is EPA, EU, USDA, and NSF approved. TwinOxide is registered as a pesticide in Colorado as well.

NEPA technological enhancement provides specific balancing of our product with the natural botanical pathways to synergize the plant’s ability to fight infection, resist repeat infection and promote healthier growth and development. This proprietary process infuses nepablast with specific frequencies that create a friendly environment for the plant to thrive (Arlotti, 2018). The nepablast product works, it kills PM quickly and efficiently. Proprietary nanomolecular electronic polarity alignment (NEPA) technology enhancement insures the product is working in conjunction with plant defenses and normal physiology. The NEPA technology is based on a balanced approach synergetic with nature to remove the unwanted species. At application concentrations, TwinOxide with nepablast is nonhazardous to humans and plants and will not result in any leftover residual on the plant as UV light degrades the product.
